Collection: TEENS

A bold, honest, and necessary collection of books for teens navigating a world that doesn’t always make sense — but deserves to.

This collection features fiction, memoir, graphic novels, and non-fiction that centre identity, mental health, activism, disability justice, neurodiversity, queerness, and growing up in a complex world.

Books in this category are aimed at readers aged 13 to 15, bridging the gap between children’s and old teen/YA. Stories often explore the challenges and adventures of early adolescence, including friendship, family, identity, and first experiences. Content is suitable for Preteen and younger teens.

Whether you're a teen, supporting one, or were once one and never saw yourself on the page — this is for you.

Here at MAKES SENSE TO ME we embrace difference and disability, that is to say we understand there are many ways to learn, process and read. For that reason we don’t observe the national reading age, and make recommendations based on the individual not the norm. We celebrate that readers of all ages enjoy this genre of books. While the target audience is teenagers, adults of all ages and abilities can enjoy sharing and reading these books too.

As always all books have neurodivergent and/or disabled contribution.
